Saffron Gin Martini
Elevate your cocktail game with a Saffron Gin Martini.
Saffron, when combined with the botanical flavor of gin, transforms the classic martini into an extraordinary experience. This infusion lends a subtle yet unmistakable saffron note to the cocktail, making it a perfect choice for elegant, celebratory moments.
Infusing the Gin:
1 bottle of high-quality gin
1-2 generous pinches of Lemonfair Saffron
A glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid
Instructions:
Grind saffron using mortar and pestle. You can also use the back of a spoon to crush them if you don't have a mortar and pestle.
Pour the gin into a glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
Add the crushed saffron threads to the gin.
Seal the container tightly and shake it gently to ensure the saffron is distributed evenly.
Store the saffron-infused gin in a cool, dark place for 1-2 days, shaking the bottle gently once a day. The longer you let it infuse, the more pronounced the saffron flavor will be.
Making the martini:
2 1/2 oz saffron-infused gin
1/2 oz dry vermouth
Ice
Lemon twist or lemon peel for garnish (optional)
Fill a mixing glass with ice.
Pour the saffron-infused gin and dry vermouth over the ice.
Stir the mixture with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds to chill and dilute the cocktail slightly.
Strain into a chilled martini glass. You can chill the glass by filling it with ice and water while you prepare the cocktail, then emptying it just before pouring.
If desired, garnish the saffron gin martini with a lemon twist or lemon peel for an extra touch of aroma and flavor.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
The saffron infusion adds a unique and luxurious flavor to the classic gin martini. Adjust the saffron-infused gin quantity to your taste if you want a stronger or milder saffron flavor.
