Saffron Hot Toddy
This recipe reimagines the humble hot toddy as a luminous, golden restorative. It trades the usual heavy spices for the delicate, floral luxury of saffron. The result is a drink that feels deeply medicinal yet entirely sophisticated.
The secret lies in grinding the saffron threads just before brewing. This releases their potent aroma and brilliant color into the boiling water. Freshly squeezed lemon and raw honey provide a classic, soothing foundation for the spirit.
A dash of whiskey adds a gentle, warming kick that carries the saffron's earthy notes. It is a foolproof nightcap for a cold winter evening. This bright, sun-drenched tea offers a moment of calm in every sip.
